Do gift cards from CVS work? ›

It can be used at any CVS Pharmacy® location and can even be used toward prescription purchases+. +Restrictions apply. CVS Pharmacy® Gift Cards cannot be used online at CVS.com or for any other retailer's Gift Card or prepaid card that CVS Pharmacy® may carry.

How do I activate my gift cards? You can request gift card activation by e-mail. Note: For faster activation please include the PO# that was included on your packing slip.

Gift Card & PIN Numbers

On some cards, this number is printed above a magnetic stripe and will contain exactly 16 digits. On other cards, this number may be as many as 30 digits and will be printed below a barcode.

If you're concerned about the activation of the gift card, check with the cashier that it is properly activated and ready to use. The cashier may provide you with a receipt confirming that the card has been activated.

But it's really simple. When you buy a gift card at the store (whether it is a retailer, restaurant, Visa or Mastercard gift card), you take the gift card to the cash register and ask the cashier to load money onto the card. The cashier takes the card, activates it and loads the dollar amount requested onto the card.

You will need your 16 digit card number and the 3 digit security code from the back of the card.

You can find the gift card number and the PIN on the back of your gift card. Be sure to scratch off the silver security label to reveal the PIN.
